The Opportunity

OPB is excited to announce a new and unique opportunity. We’re hiring a staff attorney to work on a variety of legal matters ranging from contracts to governance, FCC compliance to cell tower leases. The position joins a Legal Department of two attorneys, three support professionals and two rotating law school externs.

Our legal work is driven by OPB’s mission and a commitment to honest reporting through investigative journalism. If you are looking to be part of an in-house legal department that values teamwork, high quality legal work, humor, and a sense of purpose, we'd love to see you apply.

Position Details

The Staff Attorney is an essential part of the small (but mighty) in-house team that manages OPB’s legal work. OPB’s legal department works with OPB leadership and all departments of the organization to solve problems, assess and mitigate risks, facilitate transactions, manage litigation and administrative appeals, assist with regulatory compliance, and support OPB’s First Amendment-protected activities. This is a great opportunity for an early career attorney to join a vibrant, mission-driven organization.

5% - Perform any other functions delegated by the Deputy General Counsel.

Working Conditions

The Staff Attorney works approximately 40 hours/week, typically during OPB’s business hours (8am-5pm, Monday through Friday, flex hours possible). The person in this position spends the majority of time in an office environment using a computer and telephone.
