Operations and Budget Manager

Part-time with Health Benefits

Salary based on experience

Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council (PGAHC) is seeking a part-time Operation and Budget Manager to join our leadership team.  As the Operation and Budget Manager you will be responsible for PGAHC’s operation and fiscal management.  The Operation and Budget Manager will provide leadership for making important policy and strategic decisions, as well as develop a budget and oversee its implementation.  The successful candidate will help promote a company culture that encourages engagement and high performance.  The Operation and Budget Manager position is an Exempt status position and reports to the Executive Director.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Present inspired leadership within the organization
  • Develop, implement and review operational policies and procedures (e.g. operations manual, corporate documents and volunteers)
  • Design effective budget models for the departments and the entire organization
  • Analyze financial information (e.g. revenues, expenditures and cash management) to ensure all operations are within budget
  • Design and implement effective budgeting policies and procedure
  • Manage PGAHC facilities including developing policies and procedures for procurement and risk management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus four years’ professional experience in operation and fiscal management at a public or private agency or organization
  • Experience in operation management and budget development and analysis
  • General knowledge of art disciplines, trends and their methods of operation
  • A thorough understanding of financial and budgeting processes and principles to assess the organization's earnings and spending to identify areas for improvement
  • Staff management experience and enthusiasm is a must, including the ability to delegate and follow up, ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, be an effective leader and be a team player that has a high level of enthusiasm and positivity
  • Interpersonal skills - must communicate with both executives and staff employees in order to create and administer policy
  • Exercise of discretion and independent judgment is required to perform assigned duties

Supervisory Controls

Works under the general supervision of the Executive Director, who defines overall objectives to be achieved.  Work is reviewed for conformance to established policies and procedures, feasibility, compatibility with goals, guidelines and effectiveness in achieving intended objectives.

Work Condition

Work is typically performed in an office setting.  Program Manager will be required to visit other locations and program sites.
