Description

Baltimore Women’s Giving Circle, (BWGC), is a non-profit organization of 475 members, led by volunteers whose mission is to empower women and their families in the greater Baltimore, Maryland area to achieve self-sufficiency. By leveraging our collective resources, we support positive change through the power of grant-making. This volunteer group uses collective giving to provide over $500,000 a year to Baltimore nonprofits using a grants committee.

The Administrative Coordinator, who needs to be an independent contractor, will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of Baltimore Women’s Giving Circle. This person will report to the Circle Co-chairs. This part-time position requires a commitment of 10 – 15 hours a week, with availability by phone, email, or text during daytime business hours (Eastern Time). This is a remote position, with internet connection required. Contractor retains the right to perform services for other clients.

Qualifications and Personal Characteristics

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Ability to stream-line tech administrative processes, update as needed

Responsibilities

  • Assist Circle Co-chairs in the orientation and onboarding of Committee Co-chairs to the Steering Committee
  • Maintain and update the BWGC master calendar, Circle library website, and messaging calendar throughout the year
  • Provide support to Steering Committee as they use technologies, including Dropbox, MemberLeap, and the organization’s website. Train volunteer leaders on these platforms as needed
  • Maintain current list of locations for meetings
  • Develop and maintain image library with appropriate photo releases
  • Manage domain registrations (for websites, etc.)
  • Manage the email alias address AdministrativeCoordinator@theBWGC
  • Update and distribute Steering Committee roster with contact information for website, same for sub-committee and email aliases
  • Handle correspondence, emails, e-vites and notices as needed, track RSVPs for programs, events, meetings, and activities
  • Post approved content once a week on all social media channels, which currently include Facebook, Instagram, YouTube
  • Handle all administrative aspects of the Circle’s Grants cycle and Grants Information Session
  • Maintain list of Grantees and past Grantees
  • Maintain and update corporate sponsorship lists and correspondences
  • Manage membership renewals and new solicitations
  • Provide additional services as mutually determined by BWGC Circle Co-chairs and Administrator as needed

Technical Skills

Currently, the BWGC uses a variety of technology platforms to communicate with its members and to facilitate its grants program. The Administrative Coordinator will need to learn how to navigate these platforms and will provide technical assistance to Steering Committee as they use these platforms.

  • Zoom, Skype and other virtual conferencing platforms
  • Foundant and MemberLeap (training from BWGC is available)

Salary and Schedule:

  • $30 – 40 per hour, depending on prior experience
  • 10 – 15 hours per week, June – August are typically slower months
  • Flexible schedule within business hours
  • Remote position, with commuting distance to Baltimore metro area highly desirable
  • No benefits
