Description

The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund), a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment seeks an Accounting Clerk to provide a supportive function in general accounting and bookkeeping in the revenue processing and recording, bank reconciliation, preparing related journal entries and account reconciliations, and support Accounts Payable and contribute to monthly and year-end financial closing process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The accounting clerk will process daily deposits and record cash receipts and reconcile deposits between accounting software and  fundraising database (Raiser’s Edge); record credit card donations, event revenue and other income; perform bank, credit card and account reconciliations; prepare cash flow reports and monthly recurring journal entries; assist in daily & weekly AP invoice, credit card expense and check processing, process Chase Quick pays and record transactions in AP and in charge of petty cash reimbursement and replenishment process; perform account analyses and prepare account reconciliation schedules, ascertain and resolve discrepancies and prepare adjustments; participate in monthly and year-end closings and provide supports for annual audit.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

•              Associates degree in Accounting or Bookkeeper certification required

•              1-2 years accounting work experience required

•              Proficient with Microsoft Office products

•              Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in MS Excel

•              Strong analytical and organizational skills

•              Detail oriented with ability to demonstrate initiative, set priorities, and meet deadlines

This is a full-time salaried position based in the Entertainment Community Fund’s National Headquarters Office in Times Square, New York City.
