Senior Director – Not-for-Profit Accounting Services

Job Overview:

Hood & Strong is a mid-sized public accounting firm seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Director to provide financial management and strategic leadership to our not-for-profit clients. As a Senior Director you will work with multiple clients, providing financial guidance and support to assist them in achieving their mission and goals. You will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the not-for-profit sector and will possess excellent communication skills, as you will be communicating financial information to clients, board members, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Provide financial leadership and strategic guidance to not-for-profit clients, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures for clients.
• Collaborate with client leadership to develop financial strategies that support their mission and goals.
• Conduct regular financial analyses to identify areas of opportunity or risk.
• Provide guidance and support for fundraising efforts and grant applications.
• Communicate financial information to clients, board members, and other stakeholders.
• Developing and implementing strategies to expand the company's customer base.
• Manage and mentor accounting staff, set clear performance goals and expectations for team members and conduct regular performance evaluations.
• Oversee staff members, you will provide leadership, guidance, and support to ensure the successful execution of various projects.
• The ability to foster relationships with clients and possess the ability to bring in new business.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
• CPA required.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in public accounting.
• A minimum of 3 years of not-for-profit accounting experience.
• Strong financial analysis and modeling skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Experience with financial reporting and compliance for not-for-profit organizations.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop accounting staff.

Salary: $165,000/yr - $190,000/yr
