Description

The Planned Giving Officer plays a crucial role in the stewardship and marketing of Hadassah’s charitable gift annuity program and 1912 Legacy Society (the recognition society for individuals who have included a gift to Hadassah in their will or other estate plan).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with staff, volunteers and outside vendors to plan and run stewardship events for Legacy Society members
  • Analyze responses to department marketing initiatives and recommend follow-up
  • Interpret data regarding Legacy Society members
  • Communicate with Legacy Society members for purposes of marketing and stewardship
  • Forecast expected revenue from pipeline of current open estates
  • Promote charitable gift annuities and legacy giving in internal Hadassah publications and with prospects and donors
  • Coordinate and manage the department’s marketing projects
  • Conduct targeted planned giving donor research and recommend strategies for stewardship and promotion of planned gifts
  • Attend relevant industry conferences and webinars to stay current on planned giving trends and best practices, and share acquired knowledge with the team to drive innovation and improvement
  • Other duties as assigned 

Required Knowledge, Education, Experience 

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) is required, plus 5-7 years of related experience. Experience in Marketing, Charitable Fundraising, Event Planning, and/or Planned Giving is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM platforms

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with an emphasis on business writing and interpersonal communication
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in managing data and documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, sensitivity, and discretion when interacting with donors and their representatives
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals and adapt to changing priorities
