Hours: About 50 hours per month (12–13 per week), flexible, with potential to expand Reports to: Board of Directors Location: NYC, hybrid (remote, plus on-site for meetings and events) Compensation: $50–60 per hour
About Us
The Decorators Club, an all-woman professional organization, and the Decorators Club Education Fund (DCEF) promote high standards in interior design education and award scholarships and grants to NYC design students.
The Role
We're looking for an organized, dependable self-starter to manage administration, communications, and events for both organizations, working closely with the Board and Committee Chairs.
Responsibilities
- Support the Board and committees: schedule meetings, distribute materials, record action items, and follow up on deadlines.
- Maintain files, spreadsheets, contact lists, and calendars in Google Workspace, and document procedures.
- Draft correspondence and help keep newsletters, social media, and the website current.
- Plan and coordinate meetings, fundraising and professional development events, and member activities, including invitations, registrations, and vendors.
- Serve as a welcoming point of contact for members and build relationships with school administrators and industry sponsors to strengthen our community.
Qualifications
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with reliable follow-through.
- Works independently and takes initiative.
- Warm and personable, with a talent for building relationships with members, schools, and sponsors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Google Workspace and familiar with social media.
- Nonprofit, administrative, or event experience preferred.
