Position Overview

Almost There Rescue (ATR) is searching for an experienced Fundraising Manager with excellent leadership skills, networking abilities, and a go-getter attitude. The fundraising manager will be responsible for leading and strengthening ATR’s fundraising efforts through research, raising awareness, creating fundraising strategies, independently building relationships with prospective donors, and developing a strong fundraising team. The Fundraising Manager should be well organized, proactive, and have the ability to influence others.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead and strengthen ATR’s fundraising efforts
  • Devise fundraising strategy to be approved by the Board of Directors
  • Work to achieve fundraising target
  • Develop quarterly fundraising budget to be approved by Board of Directors
  • Coordinate and manage fundraising efforts
  • Develop, oversee, and manage a grant writing team
  • Research various fundraising opportunities
  • Develop creative ways to raise awareness
  • Implement a variety of marketing strategies and promotional campaigns
  • Work directly with Volunteer Coordinator to develop a volunteer-based fundraising team
  • Delegate tasks to fundraising team as needed, when appropriate
  • Work directly with Event Coordinator to schedule fundraising events
  • Follow up with and thank donors
  • Send thank you letters & donation receipts
  • Independently build relationships with potential donors, charitable trusts, and foundations
  • Write and/or approve funding letters and applications to donors, charitable trusts, and foundations
  • Attend networking events and meetings with potential donors
  • Prepare reports and give presentations on fundraising progress to senior leadership team and Board of Directors
  • Speak with the press & write press releases as required

Qualifications

  • Degree in PR, Fundraising, or any related field
  • 2 years of fundraising experience and/or 2 years of sales or marketing experience
  • Sound knowledge of the nonprofit world
  • General grant writing knowledge and experience
  • Experience managing a team
  • Excellent written, verbal, and telephonic communication skills
