Harvey Neighborhood Network Coordinator

In partnership with United Way of Metropolitan Chicago, a new Neighborhood Network has been formed for the challenged community of south suburban Harvey, IL (HNN). Restoration Ministries (RMI) has operated as a valued social service agency in Harvey for 35 years, and will lead the HNN.

RMI is seeking an energetic, organized applicant, imbued with mental and social intelligence and empathy, to serve as the Coordinator of the HNN. The Coordinator - with the HNN Steering Committee - will develop and implement the HNN plans for the network's first year. The Coordinator will: identify and engage supporting agencies; help create overall achievement goals; implement public communication initiatives; and organize community needs assessments.

The Coordinator will serve as the HNN's ambassador to the community, and promote media exposure and volunteer opportunities.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A B.A. (Masters preferred), or equivalent experience in social work, public/community health, education, sociology, or a related field. Experience in project management, grass-roots community organizing, and working with diverse populations (youth, parents, community leaders, funders). Proficiency in data-driven computer applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Spanish fluency and familiarity with the Harvey community are preferred.

Hours will be flexible, and include weekend work. The successful applicant must have access to a vehicle, a valid IL driver's license, and current insurance. Any offer is contingent upon: a criminal convictions background check; MVR check; and production of documents required by form I-9.
