GENERAL SUMMARY
The Annual Giving Manager is responsible for developing, executing, and managing a comprehensive multi-channel annual giving program that utilizes industry best practices and a data-driven approach. The program includes leadership and staff giving, peer-to-peer solicitation, giving days, crowdfunding, direct mail, digital, email, and social media communication and more. Reporting to and working directly with the Associate Director of Individual Giving and Events, the ideal candidate will create and implement a plan that cultivates, solicits, acknowledges, and stewards donors to maximize retention and increase overall giving. The Annual Giving Manager will also play a vital role in growing the individual donor base of Erie while moving new supporters into an annual cycle of giving.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in collaboration with the Associate Director of Individual Giving and Events to establish short- and long-term annual giving goals, objectives, and metrics for success
  • Act as the primary project manager for Erie’s annual gift renewal, direct mail, and online fundraising campaigns, focusing on increasing the number of annual donors and dollars raised
  • In partnership with the Development Operations Manager:
    • a.    analyze and report performance of renewal and acquisition campaigns, online solicitations, and other fundraising initiatives utilizing analytics to refine and improve strategies, and identify opportunities
    • b.    oversee stewardship plan and process, including acknowledgement letters, stewardship reports, personal calls to donors, fulfillment of benefits to giving club members, etc.
  • With the Associate Director of Individual Giving and Events, develop and implement plan for donor communications, stewardship of all donor segments including annual fund, mid-level, and special event supporters
  • Build and manage a small portfolio of individual donor prospects through all phases of identification, research cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Focus on donors up to $500
  • Support updating portfolios for President & CEO, VP of Development, board members and other volunteer fundraisers
  • In collaboration with the Marketing team, develop content and collateral for individual donors, including appeals, donor recognition, newsletters, presentations, as well as toolkits for volunteer fundraisers
  • Work with Development Operations Manager to ensure adherence to gift acceptance, gift counting, and gift processing policies and procedures, and to fulfill information requests and maintain reporting accuracy
  • Participate as an active and collaborative member of the Development team and take on special projects, as needed, to advance fundraising priorities
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must be a self-starter, independent, and have a sense of humor. Minimum 3 years of previous fundraising experience required.
    • Experience working with donor database especially Raiser’s Edge a plus. BA or BS degree or equivalent experience required.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills with attention to detail and nuance.
    • Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to create and manage multiple projects and timelines.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
    • Strong proficiency with Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising platforms.
    • Capacity to work collaboratively with individuals and groups: board, staff, donors/prospects, volunteers, and consultants.
    • Knowledge of multi-channel fundraising techniques and strategies for identification, cultivation and stewardship of donors.
    • Ability to keep up and take advantage of market trends.
    • Strong contributor in team environments.
    • Basic skills in design using PowerPoint, Canva or other tools a plus.
