Description

LOCATION: Northwest Youth Corps Headquarters, Eugene, Oregon.   May require limited travel within OR, WA, and ID.

 

COMPENSATION: $22.00 /hour

ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND

Since 1984, Northwest Youth Corps (NYC), a non-profit organization, has given tens of thousands of youth and young adults opportunities to learn, grow, and experience success. Through partnerships with conservation agencies, youth and young adults gain the personal and professional skills needed to carry out a variety of stewardship projects, from which they can earn a stipend, high school credit, and/or an AmeriCorps educational award. More importantly, they gain skills needed to become economically and socially self-sufficient, benefit their communities as citizen stewards, and recognize that they can make a positive difference. NYC also operates an accredited charter school, internship program, and the Idaho Conservation Corps (ICC).

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Executive Assistant (EA) works closely with the Executive Director, External Relations Director, Director of Administration, and Director of Philanthropy to provide ongoing administrative support. Responsible for organizing the day-to-day activities of Northwest Youth Corps (NYC) Executive Director while assisting in collaborative functions of the Senior Strategy Team.

 

POSITION DETAILS

  • Support organizational efforts to build coalitions and trust with marginalized and/or underrepresented communities NYC is committed to serve

 

Department Supervision and collaborations

  • This position is supervised by the Executive
  • This position supports the work of the Senior Strategy Team
  • This position works regularly with the Board of Directors

 

 

Risk Management

  • Follow all risk management guidelines in both office and field environments
  • Pass a background check and drivers training

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage schedule for Executive Director and, as related to aligned work, the corresponding schedules of the Senior Director of External Relations and Philanthropy Director
  • Prepare internal and external correspondence and communications
  • Under the direction of the Executive Director, provide liaison to the NYC Board of Directors and Senior Strategy Team
  • Prepare briefing materials and support logistics for board meetings and retreats
  • Manage donor engagement schedules and activities with NYC leadership
  • Act as the primary development and fundraising data manager
  • Manage external relationships as assigned
  • General office assistant duties including ordering office supplies, mail sorting, etc.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned

Position Qualifications & Certifications

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and forward-thinking
  • Confident personality, capable of diplomatic persistence as necessary
  • Ability to apply discretion and confidentiality with tact and thoughtfulness
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Extremely detail oriented, organized and capable of meeting deadlines
  • Maintaining calm and positivity in a sometimes stressful environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Timely and effective communication with all levels of contacts, internal and external
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced team environment operating in a three-state region

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • 3+ years of experience working as an Executive Assistant or in a similar position of responsibility.

Terms of Employment

Based in Eugene, OR. May require limited travel within OR, WA, and ID.  This is a full time, hourly position. Typical hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00 PM; with occasional long days and/or evening and weekend responsibilities seasonally.
