Education Policy Associate/Senior Policy Associate

Hybrid (Two days per week in office and three days remote work) | New York City | Minimum Salary:  $60K Maximum Salary: $75K

 

The Century Foundation (TCF), an independent progressive public policy think tank, seeks a policy associate/senior policy associate to contribute to the pre-K-12 education team’s work on educational equity and help with the Bridges Collaborative, a network of education and housing organizations committed to socioeconomic and racial integration in schools and neighborhoods.

This is a hybrid position based out of TCF’s New York City office and reporting to senior fellow Halley Potter.

 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Supporting TCF’s Bridges Collaborative, a network of organizations nationwide focused on advancing school integration.
  • Providing administrative and logistical support for the education team and TCF events.
  • Communicating with Bridges Collaborative members and other partners on a regular basis and helping to build strong relationships.
  • Facilitating discussions among Bridges Collaborative members.
  • Researching education policy topics identified by TCF education fellows and preparing background memos.
  • Helping to plan and execute regional and national convenings for Bridges Collaborative members.
  • Attending policy forums and preparing memos summarizing key insights.
  • Writing blog posts and other content for TCF’s website.
  • Participating in the planning and execution of TCF education projects, including publications and events.
  • Assisting with communications and outreach, including identifying stakeholders and promoting TCF’s work on social media.
  • Delivering presentations to diverse and interested audiences on TCF's work.
  • Occasional travel for meetings and events.

 

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of previous related experience or coursework in public policy and/or education.
  • Experience working on socioeconomic and racial school integration and housing integration is a significant plus.
  • Exceptional research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • A commitment to looking at education issues through an intersectional lens, recognizing the importance of elevating the experiences of low-income students, LGBTQ students, English learners, and students of color.
  • A commitment to progressive values and interest in TCF’s education research agenda.
