Dispatchers are an important part of the Big Star Transit Rider experience. The Dispatchers perform specialized duties to ensure all riders are properly dispatched to Owner-Operators.
Description:
- Maintain a workstyle consistent with the company values: Entrepreneurship Spirit, Quality, Collaboration, Safety, Heart
- Monitors computerized dispatch system and telephones to meet provision of service for quality and performance
- Responsible for influencing positive vehicle operator morale and quality customer service
- Monitors vehicle operator trip performances using computer aided dispatch system to ensure 100% on time compliance with scheduled appointment times
- Monitors systems messaging to ensure timely processing of operator service requests such as No Loads and Cancellation
- Assigns and reassigns trips to vehicle operators to maintain productive and on time service for both the vehicle operator and the riding customer
- Assigns back-up personnel and additional non-dedicated vehicle capacity upon demonstrated need
- Participates in analysis and review of operating performance
- Ability to remain calm and effective under heavy workloads and in emergency situations
- Exercise good judgment in emergency situations, determine priorities of emergencies, and obtain and act on information quickly and accurately in emergency situations
- Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing telephone customer service in a dispatch environment
- Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing NEMT dispatch services
- Ensures daily closeout of all rides with proper status and coding for invoicing
- Provides services in accordance with employee handbook, company policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines, directives and standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Prior 1-3 years of experience dispatching in an NEMT or Paratransit environment
Language Skills:
- Proficient written and verbal communication
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other cross-functional groups
Technical Experience:
- Ability to learn and effectively use dispatch software
Prefer:
- Microsoft Suite
- Microsoft Teams
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
