Job Overview:
  • The Missouri chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI Missouri), a non-profit mental health organization, is hiring a Director of Peer Services who is a Certified Missouri Peer Specialist.
  • This is a full-time position located in Jefferson City, MO.
  • The successful candidate must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and be self-motivated with the ability to work well independently and on a team.
  • Requirements include computer competency, customer service skills, and the ability to follow instructions and track progress.
  • This is a full-time 40 hr/ week in-office position with regular hours scheduled between 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
  • Limited weekend and evening availability may be required.
  • The position is based out of Jefferson City and may require limited travel in the future.
  • Remote or work-from-home applications will not be considered.
  • Starting salary is $35,000/ year ($16.83/ hour) with benefits.

Duties:
  • Includes coordinating with staff to meet grant requirements; participating in programs, special events, including event planning, and fundraising projects both in person and virtually; assisting with recruitment and management of NAMI Missouri volunteers; and assisting with communication duties, including social media and website updates, answering phones, and responding to email; and general office duties as assigned.
  • The Director of Peer services works with office management and staff to plan, prepare and operate NAMI Programs and services.
  • This includes Consumer/ Peer Programs (NAMI Connection Recovery Support Groups, In Our Own Voice, and Peer-to-Peer); and other programs and activities, including NAMI Smarts for Advocacy, monthly NAMI Chats, and Professional Provider Workshops.
  • The Director of Peer services will also coordinate with Family and Youth Programming (Family-to-Family, NAMI Basics, Homefront, Family and Friends, Family Support Groups, Family Experience Presentations, Children’s Mental Health Week Activities).
