Position Purpose:

The Director of Membership is an experienced and dynamic association management professional responsible for the strategic development and execution of the organization's membership initiatives. The Director of Membership will play a crucial role in growing and retaining the membership base, enhancing member engagement, and fostering a vibrant global community of education advancement professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive membership growth and retention strategy that aligns with CASE's mission and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create targeted marketing campaigns, resources, and events to attract new members and showcase the value of CASE membership.
  • Manage and mentor a team responsible for membership recruitment, engagement, and support, ensuring high-quality member experiences.
  • Identify and analyze industry trends, member feedback, and competitive landscapes to continuously improve membership offerings and benefits.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to establish membership goals, track progress, and provide regular reports on membership metrics and achievements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with institutional members, individual members, and key volunteers, fostering a sense of belonging and loyalty to the CASE community.
  • Collaborate on the creation and execution of engaging member events, conferences, webinars, and networking opportunities that promote professional growth and knowledge exchange.
  • Oversee the development and management of online platforms and resources for members, ensuring they have access to valuable content and a vibrant online community.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to create compelling messaging and content that effectively communicates the value of CASE membership to diverse audiences.
  • Monitor and manage the membership budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve membership goals.

FISCAL MANAGEMENT/BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES/JUDICIOUS USE OF RESOURCES

  1. Support the Senior Director of Membership in the preparation of the annual budget.
  2. Exercises fiscal responsibility in the utilization of all CASE resources.

LIAISON RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Exhibit appropriate leadership toward and works cooperatively and supportively with all volunteer groups for which this position is responsible.
  2. Collaborate with CASE colleagues in other parts of the world to ensure the best sharing of ideas, expertise and knowledge.

MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  1. Supervise staff members who report directly to this position and hold direct reports responsible for the manner in which they perform their work. Oversee hiring, training, ongoing communication, and evaluations of those individuals.
  2. Ensure that plans and programs are in place to advance CASE’s goals for inclusiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; CAE preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in membership management, association management, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful membership growth and engagement strategies.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and motivating teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data and trends to inform decision-making.
  • Knowledge of the education advancement sector and familiarity with industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in using membership management software and online collaboration tools.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to advancing the CASE mission.
