POSITION SUMMARY:
The Development Officer focused on Stewardship assists the East-West Director of Development in advancing the mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur by maintaining and strengthening relationships with all constituencies. He/She manages relationships with annual giving and planned giving donors, securing financial resources through personal contacts and written communications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collaborate with the Director of Development to develop, manage, and strengthen the effectiveness of our donor engagement
• Increase the number of personal contacts with donors and prospects, both in person and by phone, in order to strengthen our relationship with them, better understand their interests, and inform them of ways they can “partner” with the Sisters
• Oversee a portfolio of annual donors to contact periodically
• Develop strategies for renewing contact and engaging with alumni, family members and former sisters
• Work with Development staff in planning donor appreciation events and increase engagement of potential and current donors with the Sisters
• In conjunction with Communications staff, develop themes, content ideas and articles, etc. for online and print communications that will encourage significant contributions for the Sisters and their ministries
• Track and record activities as they relate to donors and prospects, using development software system
• Provide support to the Parish Mission Coordinator in contacting and all communication with the dioceses, parishes and speakers and in acknowledging contributions received
• Attend events related to SNDdeN including Alumni Receptions at local high schools
• Personalize and strengthen the acknowledgement process
• Oversee the Tribute and Memorial Program
• Manage the prayer list and all areas relating to the prayer list
• Work with MAT Team to identify any potential Associates
• Assist the team with special giving initiatives and events
• Assist with Development Events
• Assist with fundraising events managed by the Sisters
• Develop, grow and manage strategies for increasing our Monthly Giving program
• Assist in other tasks as appropriate, and work as a team member in achieving Development goals

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Ability to represent and communicate the vision and mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, and a desire to make a significant difference for them
• Minimum of five years successful experience in Fundraising
• Self-starter, takes direction well and prioritizes
• A familiarity with fundraising software
• Bachelor’s degree; graduate degree preferred
• Ability to interact easily and effectively with a variety of people
• Confidentiality, good judgment and maturity
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
• Organizational skills
