Description

GHC is looking for a Development Manager to join our global team. The ideal candidate is an excellent project manager, enjoys writing and editing communication pieces, loves to plan events from A to Z, and thrives in a collaborative team environment. The Development Manager is excited and committed to join a fundraising team that supports GHC’s vision of training and mobilizing a diverse community of health leaders. The candidate prides themselves in being:
a problem-solver at heart – while this person does not look to disrupt processes that are working well, they are constantly assessing how processes could be improved and actively working to share those ideas and implement improvements
an excellent critical thinker – this means being able to assess a situation, identify connections and gaps, synthesize information, and translate all of that into concrete actions to implement or recommend to others. This is a person who frequently steps back to note what trends are happening – both locally and globally. They like digging into topics to better understand what’s happening and why – and how it might apply to their job, colleagues, or life.
able to work independently – this person has enough formal office experience to understand how to navigate relationships, processes, and logistics; and has been in many situations where they have fully owned tasks from start to finish. People ask them to be involved, knowing they can be counted on to deliver what’s needed – and then some – on time.
flexible – this is a person who jumps in enthusiastically to do what’s needed on the team, even if it’s not technically part of their job description. This person is known for moving easily from one role or project to the next with an eagerness to learn something new, further hone a skill, or stretch existing abilities further.
a great listener – which means hearing what others are saying, being able to read between the lines, and knowing what questions to ask to find out how best to meet that person’s or company’s needs. They have a natural curiosity to dig deeper, to connect people, and to work together towards a common goal.
