We work with individuals, academic leaders, faculty members and governments from 34 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean connecting talented minds with advanced educational opportunities and improving teaching and learning practices to strengthen university education. Laspau carries out its mission by designing and managing scholarship programs for graduate studies abroad as well as short-term programs to improve the effectiveness of higher education. We also administer a graduate school admissions test in Spanish and build higher education alliances throughout the Western Hemisphere.

Laspau’s original mission was faculty development, and to a large extent faculty development still lies at the core of our mission today. Throughout its history, Laspau has consistently worked to build institutional capacity in universities by creating opportunities for faculty and academic leaders to access high quality graduate level academic programs abroad and more recently, to learn from the foremost global experts to improve the effectiveness of their institutions. Laspau also has a long history of advocating for diversity and inclusion in the programs in our portfolio, giving special attention to institutions and individuals from provincial universities and

For over a decade, we’ve helped hundreds of universities identify ideal candidates, innovate teaching methods and improve their effectiveness. This continues to influence generations of faculty and students with global best practices in teaching and learning, impacting future experts and leaders.

Laspau is overseen by a Board of Trustees formed by distinguished members from various countries and fields of expertise. The board includes prominent members of Harvard University as well as as leaders in international affairs and higher education.  Additionally, Laspau has an Advisory Council composed of influential leaders from Latin America who support the advancement of the organization.

Our values--excellence, integrity, trust, and respect--guide us in our day-to-day work and our interactions with scholars, partners and one another.
