Film at Lincoln Center fulfills its mission through the programming of festivals, series, retrospectives, and new releases; the presentation of podcasts, talks, and special events; and the creation and implementation of artist initiatives. Since its founding in 1969, this nonprofit organization has brought the celebration of American and international film to the world-renowned Lincoln Center arts complex, making the discussion and appreciation of cinema accessible to a broad audience and ensuring that it remains an essential art form for years to come.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Coordinator, Theater Operations & Venue Sales position reports to the Director of Theater

Operations and supports FLC’s venue sales and venue operations initiatives. Responsibilities will include

tasks related to venue rentals/supporting clients, supporting special event activations within FLC spaces,

and project coordination/workflow tracking for FLC equipment and third-party vendors.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports FLC Venue Rental initiatives under the direction of the Director, including:

  • Answering general inquiries via phone and email
  • Providing venue tours to interested parties
  • Generating estimates, venue contracts, and invoices
  • Serving as a liaison between renters, FLC, and required support staff in order to deliver high-quality experiences for all involved parties.
  • Organizes documents that support Venue Sales initiatives including rate cards, websites, sales decks, vendor lists, and venue       guides;
  • Generating regular reports on completed/contracted rentals and possible business;
  • Conducts research on similar venues, rates, and best practices;
  • Provides support for special activations of FLC spaces such as donor events, partner festivals, and New York Film Festival insuring standard forms and documents are completed and distributed;
  • Coordinates the maintenance of FLC Venues, working closely with Lincoln Center of the Performing Arts facilities staff (Porters, Carpenters, Electricians, Security, etc) as directed;
  • Maintains contacts database for key vendors that serve FLC spaces and equipment;
  • Maintains Theater Operations maintenance and service logs, tracking work required to keep our spaces and cinemas in top form; Generates quarterly aging reports for FLC equipment;
  • Generates research and reports on a wide range of facilities, theater management, and venue operations topics at the direction of the Director of Theater Operations.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • 2-3 years of experience in venue operations and sales
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, workback schedules, and timelines
  • The position may require some work outside normal office hours including work on weekends

Travel

<10% Travel (Travel is currently frozen – this estimate assumes travel will re-open in the next year as COVID-19 abates)
