Organization Summary: 

In 1988, Diane and Alan Page created the Page Education Foundation (501c3) to encourage Minnesota students of color to pursue post-secondary education. Recognizing a need for our education system to reach more young people of color, the Pages used Alan’s induction into the NFL Hall of Fame to launch the organization. From its inception, the Page Education Foundation has offered financial assistance to students of color facing barriers to attaining their educational dreams. In turn, these young leaders return to their communities to serve as tutors and role models for elementary and junior high school students. Through our efforts, we promote the educational success, personal responsibility, and untapped potential of our students to become vital contributors in their communities.

Salary: $35,000-$40,000 | Status: Non-Exempt/Full-Time | Reports to: Executive Director

Position Summary: 

The Page Connections Career and Internship Services Coordinator provide program support as it pertains to our Page Connections program. Page Connections is our professional development program creating concrete pathways to meaningful employment during and post-graduation for our undergraduate college students. Under Page Connections are two subprograms: College, Coffee and Conversations (CCC) Mentoring and Accelerate. CCC is our professional mentoring program. Accelerate provides our students with customized opportunities to learn about local Minnesota businesses and companies who have invested in our students’ education through organized workshops, field trips, and internship and employment opportunities with corporate and business partners.  Through excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, the Page Connections Career and Internship Services Coordinator is able to expand the overall positive impact of the Page Education Foundation to our students.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and conduct workshops, seminars, and fieldtrips with current corporate and business partners through Accelerate to ensure that all deliverables are met within the academic school year.
  • Closely coordinator communication between Executive Director, Development Director, and corporate and business partners, to ensure that program services are meeting the needs and desires of students and partners.
  • Schedule quarterly and annual meetings with Accelerate Partners to plan and wrap up program.
  • Create, update, and refine Accelerate program application and review process to meet expectation of corporate and business partners.
  • Maintain and cultivate relationships with current corporate partners and businesses.
  • Reach out and develop new contacts with external corporations and businesses for the purpose of expanding Accelerate, employment, and internship opportunities for students and alumni.
  • Assist with onboarding new Accelerate corporate and business partners.
  • Provides career advising expertise to students and alumni regarding the job-search process, interviewing, resume, and letter writing, and all other facets of career planning.
  • Recruit professionals to serve as mentors under the CCC professional mentoring subprogram and cultivate relationship with mentors.
  • Update and refine the CCC mentor and mentee application online annually.
  • Match CCC mentors and mentee for CCC experience and follow up for data and impact collection.
  • Conduct virtual and in-person workshops, seminars, and other presentations to all students, alumni groups, and partners.
  • Work together with program staff to plan and execute program events (i.e., award ceremony, orientation/seminar. Alumni events).
  • Assist in collecting alumni information and re-engaging alumni with students and organization.
  • Assist in creating and implementing program assessment and evaluations where needed and instructed.
  • Monitor and evaluate program goals and objectives year-around to ensure they are being met.
  • Responsible for maintaining the database system, including data entry, storage, and retrieval (queries) to maximize internal and external resources, where applicable, analysis and dissemination, ensuring data entry is up to date and numbers accurately reflect outcomes.
  • Ensure all data collected and program activities are recorded into student database (i.e., attendance, case notes, grades, school information, forms, volunteer site information, etc.).
  • Assist with migration of student data from online platforms to student database.
  • Provide quarterly reports on program outcomes and progress by collecting data and narratives regarding students’ experiences in the program, barriers in higher education, and the impact of the foundation on their lives.
  • Aid in the scholarship program applications review process.
  • Observe and assist in improving program’s policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and schedule monthly college campus visits to meet with students, get to know college faculty and staff, offices, and services provided to our students on their college campus.
  • Represent the Foundation at community partner meetings, initiatives, and events.
  • Improve and increase engagement platforms with students, particularly through Scholar Portal and social media.
  • Provide administrative support where needed, especially around fundraising events (i.e., annual gala, seminar, walk).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (business, education, youth studies, student affairs and services, or related field).
  • 2+ year experience working in education setting serving students from diverse communities in career, internship, employment, student services, or related areas.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, including attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask, take initiative, and work independently.
  • Ability to compile information and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated skills using Excel and Microsoft Word software to prepare reports and correspondence.
  • Willingness to learn new database program and technology.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have own transportation.
  • Must have access to wifi/internet outside of office.
  • Availability to work some evenings and weekends during the year.

Preferred:

  • Experience working effectively in small and collaborative team environment.

  • Knowledge of and experience with Minnesota post-secondary education system.
  • Experienced with SalesForce/Copilot database.
  • Experienced online platform user: Submittables, SurveyMonkey, Mailchimp, WordPress, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn.

  • Understanding that this position entails 80 percent administrative and 20 percent community outreach work.
