Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Directs/manages overall daily operations of the designated Clubhouse with the primary concern for programs and service delivery, supervision and training of staff, facilities management, community relations and membership administration. The ideal candidate will have Boys & Girls Clubs or similar experience at the Branch/Clubhouse level.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

A. Outcomes Management

1. Establish, monitor and evaluate Branch programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success that create a club environment that facilitates achievement of strategic outcomes.
2. Develop partnerships with parents, community leaders and organizations.
3. Develop and maintain public relations and recruitment efforts to increase the visibility of programs, services, the number of children participating in activities within the Club and the community.

B. Resource Management

4. Develop and manage annual budgets and control expenditures against budget.
5. Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of the physical properties and equipment of the Club, including use of facilities by outside groups.

C. Skill Development

6. Recruit, manage and provide career development opportunities for branch staff and
Volunteers.
7. Develop staff skills in program development and implementation, outcome management, fundraising, membership development, and Board development (as required)

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Purchase or approve purchase of supplies and equipment.
• Work with staff on special events to carry out programs in all departments.
• Exercise authority in challenges relating to members; utilize guidance and discipline plan.
• Assume other duties as assigned.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Maintains valued, daily contact with Branch Director/Club professional staff to interpret and explain organizational mission, program objectives and standards, and provide/receive information. Maintains contact with Branch Boards as required. Has regular contact with members as needed to discipline, advice, and counsel.

External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, parent groups and others to assist in resolving problems and to publicize Clubs.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• Four year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of five years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience.
• Preferred knowledge and oversight of a Licensed Childcare Program.
• Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to recruit, train, supervises, and motivates staff.
• Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems.
• Working knowledge of budget preparation, control, and management.
• Skills in fund-raising events.
• Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community leaders.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Typical Work Hours: School Year, Monday-Friday 11pm-7pm. Winter, Spring & Summer Camp Hours, 8 Hour Shift between 8am and 6pm, Monday-Friday. Some weekend work may be necessary.
• Driving a 14 passenger bus once or twice per week to transport children from a local elementary school and once or twice per month transporting children on field trips. Valid driver’s license and a good driving record required. Bus driving training provided.

Full time: Monday - Friday 11:00am - 7:00pm

Salary: $50,000 - $57, 000 Annually
