OPPORTUNITY
Green Dot is seeking an Area Operations & Finance Manager to oversee operations, budgeting, and forecasting for a cluster of schools in and around Los Angeles. We need a problem solver who will own operational challenges so that principals and teachers can focus on educating students. There is always room for system improvements, and we want someone who will not just put out fires, but also identify ways to make operations more efficient and improve the effectiveness of our school services. This is a fast-paced, on-the-ground position, requiring strong analytical and communication skills. If you have the skills and a passion for transforming public education, we want to hear from you.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
> Serve as the “COO” for a number of schools, typically four to seven
> Support Area Superintendent in running day-to-day, non-academic operations (e.g., finance, facilities, IT, security, transportation, etc.)
> Assist principals in managing school budgets, analyzing year-to-date results, and forecasting end-of-year performance
> Coach School Ops Managers toward growth as the operational leads of their school sites
> Serve as liaison between Home Office departments and schools to ensure implementation of best practices in school operations
> Develop and implement trainings for school site staff to maximize operational efficiency
> Lead special projects (e.g., school moves, attendance improvement, etc.)
> Assist the district operations and management teams on special projects and initiatives as necessary

This job operates in a professional office environment, is largely sedentary, and utilizes typical office equipment (computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.). Normal business hours are 8:30am – 5:30pm, Monday-Friday (although these hours may vary and may require occasional evening and weekend work based on organizational needs). Local travel to school sites required with regularity.

QUALIFICATIONS
As an ideal candidate, you:
> have a bachelor’s degree (required); MBA preferred
> have 4+ years of experience in a fast-paced, highly analytical professional environment (2-3 years managing school operations with charter school experience highly preferred)
> have 2+ years of experience managing others in a professional environment
> have strong financial acumen
> have experience designing and facilitating differentiated professional development sessions
> are able to build collaborative, coordinated, and supportive relationships
> are able to impact and influence stakeholders both inside and outside of the organization
> can demonstrate flexibility and innovation when faced with ambiguity
> can demonstrate creative problem-solving skills
> are tenacious and with a willingness to do whatever it takes to achieve our mission
> are dependable, have a sense of humor and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot’s mission and the communities we serve
> will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer
> will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (submission of proof of vaccination will be required)

COMPENSATION
The starting salary range for this position is $88,000 - $98,000, based on education and experience. In addition, if this hire is made by June 30, 2023, the position qualifies for a one-time $2,500 signing bonus, paid in two installments after months 6 and 12 of employment (subject to change).
