SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Specialist, Education Programs plays a key role in helping to design insightful programs, build relationships with compelling speakers, and empower our membership to effectively lead in the boardroom. This role supports the Education Team through development of webinars such as Member Engagement, Private Company Governance Learning Series, and also specialty education programs such as Certification Discussion Groups and Advisory Councils. This role is also responsible for key communication elements with speakers in preparation for the programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Research & Analysis
•Research opportunities for experiential learning opportunities, leveraging directors in NACD network, to identify experiential learning that aligns with learning objectives for advisory council programming.
•Research governance topics, leverages NACD thought leadership, and incorporates NACD member feedback to decide on event/session topics and ensure relevancy and accuracy of related materials.
•Research and suggest potential speakers and topics for assigned NACD events.
•Evaluates program effectiveness and continuously seeks opportunities for improvements and innovation.
Program Development
•Serves as content lead for virtual and in-person live events (as assigned), managing the selection of speakers, developing the agenda, and leading planning calls.
•Develops learning objectives that accurately represent session descriptions. Ensures learning objectives to meet the needs of aspiring directors, early directors, experienced directors and lead directors.
•Collaborates with internal and external partners to identify subject-matter experts to develop session materials.
•Manages call for proposals process for NACD programs and webinars.
•Develops presentation materials and polling questions for webinars, often working closely with speakers and subject matter experts.

Project Management & Communication
•Leads content-planning calls for assigned NACD events.
•Leverages appropriate project planning tools to ensure milestones are met related to programming.
•Monitors project management timelines related to speaker logistics, including contracting, obtaining headshots and bios and promotional updates via the website and social media.
•Manages speaker information throughout program planning process, through to the conclusion of the event, and manages distribution of survey feedback and timely payment of fees.
•Manages speaker fees and honorariums within set budgets
•Collaborates with logistics lead to determine technical requirements for each assigned event.
•Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSILITIES
This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three to five years of project or program management experience in a business environment is required. Experience with Salesforce, Monday.com, Cvent, Microsoft Teams and/or Trello are a plus. Must exhibit a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required. Must be comfortable interacting with company board directors, C-suite executives, and other governance experts. Must exhibit excellent time management, organization and prioritization skills, and demonstrate ability to grasp and synthesize new information and adapt to a fast-moving, growing environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, follow through with minimal supervision, exhibit strong team orientation, and demonstrate a commitment to meeting goals is required. Familiarity with virtual platforms such as Zoom and/or experience with virtual events or education platforms a plus. Background in corporate governance or other professional education a plus. ___________________________________________________________________________

NACD employees are required to be fully vaccinated for the COVID-19 virus by their first day of employment. An employee is “fully vaccinated” two weeks after receiving their second dose of a two-dose vaccination series or two weeks after the first shot of a single-dose vaccine (or as described by the vaccine manufacturer).

The salary/hourly range for this position is $70,000-$75,000 plus bonus potential. Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
