Classification Level: Exempt 

LocationArlington, VA (remote work optional)

Your direct supervisor and coach will be the Director of Knowledge Mobilization. Your support will be the entire APHSA organization because we work best when we all work together!

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Knowledge Mobilization Senior Policy Associate will be responsible for coordinating the deliverables for one of our largest grants; supporting virtual and in-person learning communities and events as part of our grants; and gathering our thought leaders to disseminate policy information across various multi-media platforms.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibility #1: Day-to-Day Grant Coordination (20%)

  • Manage engagement with diverse stakeholders (consultants, federal agencies, state agency leadership, parent consultants, and more)
  • Track workplans
  • Draft quarterly & annual updates
  •  Provide thought leadership on how to best disseminate grant learnings and products across APHSA teams and externally with the field.

Key Responsibility #2: Learning Community & Event Organization and Support (20%)

  • Keep the trains on track by implementing schedules for grant partner meetings and communications throughout
  • Supporting design and execution of stakeholder and learning community convenings on virtual platforms or in person
  • Capture the thoughts and ideas from meetings and events for our grant reports and public learning opportunities (briefs, webinars, etc.)
  • Provide additional team support for APHSA’s events

Key Responsibility #3: Policy Knowledge Creation & Dissemination (20%)

  • Produce status reports for the APHSA team and external stakeholders
  • Draft briefing materials, talking points, and background materials for the APHSA executive team to help advance policy & practice priorities
  • Plan multi-media strategies to help elevate the work of the policy team
  •  Support and participate in APHSA’s formal and informal communications with key industry, community, and research partners and peer associations
  • Compile materials on grant results for publication and distribution
  • Coordinate with the communications teams (internal and external) to create social media campaigns, press releases, website updates, etc.

Key Responsibility #4: Additional responsibilities that will help develop and create learning opportunities as a valuable contributor to the organization (10%)

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years' work or project experience.
  • Self-organized and has experience compiling deliverables to report the progress of grants and managing workplans.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and proficiency in Zoom for planning and facilitating virtual meetings.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to craft solid written products.
  • Experience in compiling deliverables reports for grants, managing workplans, frameworks such as logic models, grant timelines, and outcomes modeling/reporting
  • Desired proficiency in planning and facilitating within virtual platforms.
  • Basic knowledge and interest in learning more about human services.
  • Comfortable communicating with broad and diverse audiences.
  • Detail oriented and a problem solver.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 10%), as public health considerations permit.
