Description

The Support Center for Child Advocates (Child Advocates) is seeking a full-time Project Manager for Project PROTECT (Philadelphia Response & Outreach To End Child Trafficking). Work for a premier child advocacy program. Experience multidisciplinary practice of lawyers and social workers, outstanding staff collegiality, and commitment to quality service.

AgencyChild Advocates is Philadelphia’s volunteer lawyer program for children who have experienced abuse and neglect, providing legal and social service advocacy, through the service of volunteer attorneys teamed with staff social workers and attorneys. Child Advocates utilizes a "whole child" model of representation, focusing on advocacy for safety, health, education, family permanency, and access to justice for child clients. Systemically, we promote collaborative, multi-disciplinary casework and solutions to recurrent problems. For the community, we provide educational programs to increase awareness about the problems of and ways to prevent child abuse.

Project PROTECT’s goals include improving the identification of child victims of human trafficking (CVHT), expanding trauma-informed intervention models, facilitating the collaboration of relevant professionals and stakeholders, and educating the community on serving CVHT. Project PROTECT convenes the Philadelphia Youth Anti-Trafficking Coalition to promote the collaboration of agencies in Philadelphia serving CVHT and leads the project’s Youth Survivor Advisory Board, a group of youth survivors of human trafficking ages 18-26 who provide insight and expertise to the work of the Coalition, advocate for resource-development, and policy change.

Position Summary:  Provide leadership to project team members, direct service social work, local resource development, and macro-level policy advocacy for child victims and survivors of human trafficking. Convene child-serving agencies in Philadelphia’s Youth Anti-Trafficking Coalition to develop the knowledge base, policies, and practices to better serve CVHT and prevent other children from experiencing human trafficking. Provide leadership and support to the Youth Survivor Advisory Board. Present trauma-informed trainings to community agencies on child trafficking and other related topics. Partner with volunteer attorneys to provide legal representation to clients. Conduct home visits, analyze records, initiate child protective proceedings, maintain contact with all other professionals serving the child and family, train volunteer attorneys and attend and participate in court hearings. Responsible for grant writing, management, and reporting.

Qualifications:

Required: Master’s degree in social work, or other related field, or JD; familiarity with child welfare; experience serving victims and survivors of human trafficking; experience facilitating trainings. Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook).

Preferred: Spanish-language proficiency; experience in grants-management; experience with coalition building.

Salary:  $62,000+ (based on experience).  Benefits incl. health, disability & life insurance, 401-K, cafeteria plan for dependent care expenses, and generous leave program.  Hybrid Schedule.
