About Plug In South LA & the Role
The high-level. Our new role includes high-visibility, high-impact, and will work directly with CEO and the Board. Plug IN South LA is looking for a Project Manager who wants to help promising entrepreneurs in the LA tech ecosystem, while engaging with city-wide stakeholders and a wide-ranging network of talent in tech. Plug In is the center point for diversity within the tech ecosystem, helping enable talented founders and entrepreneurs from under-represented communities and we need a project-oriented and growth focused PM to help support our company mission and member network’s growth. We are a collaborative, agile, and forward-thinking team, and we seek someone with similar mindset, skillset, and enthusiasm. The program manager will help support entrepreneurship programs for early-stage founders and tech pros in and around South LA. This is a role that is open for remote work if you do not live in the LA area. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
The program manager will be tasked with the following:
- Management of Accelerator program applicant intake, facilitate meetings, workshops, and mentoring sessions. Participate in each session and lead some with host facilitators.
- Assist in organizing and facilitating accelerator, sessions and seminars
- Communicate and enforce program logistics.
- Manage program calendar and logistics
- Coordinate meetings for mentors training and participation.
- Validate and test electronic systems developed to support the operation of the program.
- Ensure applicant and participant compliance with program policies (see participant requirements for details).
- Support Founders in their needs to connect with the right people and the right time.
- Work with program assistant to tackle key project deliverables and milestone
- Organize and facilitate gatherings of program participants, LA VCs, Founders and Key Stakeholders (especially during demo day).
- Successfully lead, organize, and track roadmap for demo day and map out agenda, program in partnership with program assistant and Derek when needed.
- Finalize / recruitment of participants and special guest
- Help support securing outcomes, services and benefits for accelerator Founders
Qualifications:
- Self Sufficient, able to take draft concepts to turn into processes with minimal input
- Comfortable providing input and feedback to leadership even when difficult
- Open-minded, enjoy and commit to build positive and fun work environment
- Bachelor degree in Business/ Marketing / Finance/ Communications
- Proficient in Google Suite, Mailchimp, WordPress, and Trello
- 2-3 Years of relevant work experience
- Strong passion in the Technology & Digital Media Industry & startup ecosystems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong personal relationship building and networking skills
- Organizational skills, flexibility, and strong time management
- Interested in entrepreneurship
