Description

The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) is the national membership organization for the nation’s federally qualified health centers (also known as FQHCs or Community Health Centers). Health centers are nonprofit, community-directed health clinics that provide access to high-quality, culturally competent, and comprehensive care to people living in medically underserved areas. NACHC strengthens the health center movement through advocacy, training, and technical assistance, clinical and operations support. Reporting to DEPUTY DIRECTOR, INNOVATION, the PROGRAM ASSOCIATE will be responsible for supporting the Development and Innovation division with accurate and timely administrative and logistical support. This position contributes to a fast-paced team by utilizing effective communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. This role is responsible for managing many details, such as tracking Requests for Proposals and grants, list management, meetings and other duties with an eye towards making all the division’s processes and systems effective and efficient. Responsibilities in this area require working with our team, as well as independently, using good judgment while providing operational, administrative, project, and office technology support with a minimum of direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support logistics for a portfolio of development and innovation projects.
  • Track and manage Requests for Proposals, partnerships, grants, and innovative programs and models using databases, CRM, spreadsheets, and other tools.
  • Triage and respond to applicant/respondent questions or other inquiries.
  • Support the development and preparation of materials and resources, including Power Point presentations, correspondence, reports and online forms and documents.
  • Research development and innovation topics and provide concise, well-written reports.
  • Organize, schedule/coordinate, and provide logistical support for events. Events include webinars, conference sessions, teleconferences, department meetings, workgroup meetings, and other events, as assigned.
  • Develop content for internal and external communications/marketing efforts including drafting social media posts, blogs, list management, website content and other outreach.
  • Provide project management support.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

  • Commitment to NACHC’s mission, health center mission and health equity.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing administrative and logistics support in a fast-growing team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with high customer service orientation and ability to work well with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong communications skills – written (proofreading, editing) and verbal (meeting participation.)
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of database management, online survey creators such as SurveyMonkey or Google Forms, and email marketing tools such as Constant Contact.
  • Experience with Word Press, CRMs and project management tools such as Asana are preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth with an interest in learning and mastering new skills.
  • Creative, innovative and inquisitive in problem solving and judgment, with an ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude.
  • Works effectively (prioritize, multi-task, deliver on-time) with attention to detail.
  • The position may require some local travel, in accordance with travel safety and public health guidelines.
