SUMMARY:

An environmental foundation in Los Angeles seeks to hire a Program Assistant to join its Innovative Partnership team (Team). The Team cultivates and manages relationships with corporate and institutional partners, as well as, oversees the foundation’s fundraising activities. The Team plans and executes a variety of fundraising activities – donor events, product sales, digital marketing, etc. – that raise revenue to support the foundation’s grantmaking activities. The team also manages high profile external relationships with other mission-aligned organizations, institutions, and corporations to raise awareness about the foundation’s mission and enhance its public outreach efforts.

 

The Program Assistant will be responsible for providing research and administrative support to the Team. The Program Assistant will report to the Director of Innovative Partnerships.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Team Administrative Support
    • Schedule meetings for the Team, and help manage the Director’s calendar
    • Make travel arrangements for the Team
    • Assist with expense reimbursements for the Team
    • Work with the Director to submit invoices to the Finance team
    • Input information into Salesforce (contact management system)
    • Conduct research assignments, as needed
    • Provide general administrative support, as needed
    • Assist with special projects, as needed
    • Prepare presentations, reports, and memos for the Director, as requested

 

  • Event Management
    • Provide support for foundation events - event research, etc.
    • Provide on-site event support, if needed

 

  • Partnerships
    • Help to research potential strategic partners
    • Develop PowerPoint decks for partnership meetings/pitches
    • Assist in vetting and evaluating potential partners

  

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Four-year undergraduate degree

 

Experience: At least 2 years of work experience, preferably in the philanthropic or non-profit sectors.  An interest in environmental issues is a plus.

  • Experience coordinating meetings and phone calls

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service/client management skills
  • Proven ability to: take initiative; multi-task; work independently and collaboratively; adapt to shifting priorities; and prioritize tasks
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications – strong PowerPoint skills are required

Some travel may be required.

 

Compensation:  Salary (including excellent benefits package) commensurate with non-profit industry standards and applicant’s experience.
