Emergence is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Peer Support Supervisor to provide encouragement and assistance to help participants in treatment court achieve long-term recovery, connect with the local recovery community, and navigate local resources. EMERGENCE is willing to train the right person.
 
Signing Bonus:
$3,500! $1,500 on your first regular paycheck, and $2,000 in 6 months.
 
Peer Support Supervisor Position Highlights:

Peer Support Supervisor Responsibilities:
· Supervise Peer Support staff in peer-based activities.
· Provides detailed instructions on Peer Support work is to be accomplished.
· Prioritizes client needs such as food, shelter, medications, emotional support, problem solving, etc.
· Assign team members to assist Peer Supports as needed.
· Supports departmental policies and procedures, attends required trainings, and ensures that all peer supports attend required trainings
· Implements and fosters safe working practices
· Develops and maintains effective internal and external working relationships at all levels
· Follows all legal and medical policies as mandated by court, parole and probation, and Emergence.
· Work in conjunction with case managers and treatment teams, review treatment plans with Peer Supports.
· Help Peer Support staff identify strengths and provide coaching to improve performance.
· Provide support for documentation processes.
· Monitor progress of Peer Supports and identify challenges, ensuring all Peer Support are meeting Emergence standards and adhering to policies.
· Document activities and uphold the highest standards of professional ethics
· May be required to work evenings and weekends
 
Peer Support Supervisor Competencies:
· Utilize your recovery experience with mental health/substance use/corrections to model recovery skills using a strengths-based approach.
· Ability to frame difficulties as learning opportunities and structure learning opportunities to help the peer support grow professionally.
· Demonstrate a knowledge of ethics and boundaries.
· Teach and role-model the value of every individual’s recovery experience.
· Model effective coping techniques and self-help strategies.
· Help Peer Supports identify community and natural supports to aid in the client’s recovery process.
· Assist peers and clients in developing empowerment skills and combating stigma through self-advocacy. Model these skills and coach Peer Supports on how to model them to clients.
· Coach Peer Supports in supporting clients to reach their service plan goals and collaborate with treatment team to update them.
· Aid Peer Supports in documentation to ensure clarity, and that requirements are being met as they pertain to ethics, appropriateness, therapeutic strategy, and timeliness.
 Peer Support Supervisor Requirements:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent
· Minimum of one years’ experience as a Certified Peer Support Professional
· Desire to help people suffering addiction achieve long-term recovery
· Desire and ability to partner with the justice system and individuals who are justice involved
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
 
Preferred Qualifications:
· CRM credential preferred
· Knowledge of local resources and supports
 
Additional eligibility requirements:
· Must be eligible to work in The United States
· Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking English in a professional manner
· Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
