The International Leadership Association (ILA) brings together thousands of members across sectors, professions, and cultures to advance leadership knowledge and practice for a better world. We seek a membership & marketing professional with a global mindset to develop and implement a comprehensive membership plan, with specific emphasis on membership growth, new markets, and community building.

Membership Recruitment & Retention

  1. Develop and execute a growth plan that builds on our base and reaches new markets.
  2. Serve as the primary point of contact for members and prospective members.
  3. Track and analyze KPIs and implement approaches for continual improvement.
  4. Maintain member records in MemberClicks AMS for on-boarding, renewals, and payments.

Membership Marketing

  1. Identify internal and external targets for recruitment and marketing activities.
  2. Develop creative, engaging marketing materials that demonstrate ILA’s value proposition.
  3. Create integrated marketing campaigns for membership, webinars, and publications.
  4. Coordinate with annual conference marketing.

Membership Relations

  1. Deliver services that: provide value, leverage member expertise and excitement, improve retention, and support ILA Member Communities.
  2. Serve as the community manager of ILA’s online member portal (powered by Higher Logic).
  3. Work collaboratively to align strategic membership services across the ILA.
  4. Staff the Membership Committee of the Board of Directors.

Other

  1. Occasional travel, domestic and international.
  2. Help market and administer individual giving program.

Details:

This full-time, exempt position is located in downtown Silver Spring, MD, 3 blocks from the Metro.

Salary range $55-65k, commensurate with experience.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, and an advance degree preferred.
  • Five years of professional experience growing membership and leading marketing, preferably in a nonprofit membership association working internationally.
  • Experience tracking, analyzing, and reporting on membership trends and marketing strategies.
  • Proficiency with AMS is required; experience with MemberClicks and Higher Logic is preferred.
  • Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple detail-oriented projects and work collaboratively.
