$65,000 per year

Job Description

This is an in-person marketing position for Daniel’s Music Foundation (DMF) - a leading non-profit organization founded in 2006 to empower individuals with developmental and physical disabilities through music. Since then, we have expanded our programs from one keyboard class with five members to serving thousands of individuals - both locally at our 8,700 square-foot music center in NYC, and nationally, online through the DMF Virtual Community. As an organization, we are expanding, maturing, and creating the opportunity for people to see the ability in disability through the universal language of music.

Roles & Responsibilities

Manage marketing for all aspects of the Foundation in a meaningful work environment, where strong organization, communication skills, initiative, and attention to detail is required. Primary focus is developing and executing marketing plans and materials for all programs and events. Your full-time role will report directly to the Marketing and Disability Awareness Director and will include delivering a full range of marketing support including:

  • Create and manage marketing plans with ongoing review of campaigns for success and weakness. Constantly develop solutions within our marketing budget to address underperforming tactics.
  • Manage, cultivate, and grow social media presence on all channels. Candidate will need experience with social media to tell our brand story, reinforce our mission, and promote all programs on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube.
  • Build brand awareness through various media outlets and potential partnership opportunities. Actively research and respond to opportunistic opportunities that can further the DMF mission and create awareness for all aspects of the foundation.
  • Manage ongoing updates of DMF website.
  • Oversee database management and email marketing through Constant Contact
  • Create marketing materials for all areas of the Foundation, including but not limited to flyers, email marketing, logo design for virtual events and signage. Experience with Canva a plus.
  • Oversee ongoing Google Ad Grant of $10,000 a month. Update landing pages, ads, and keywords on a regular basis.
  • Lead video production on short releases. Experience with Renderforest, iMovie and/or other video production programs a plus.
  • Create and manage photo and video library.

Applicants must have/be:

Experience/Traits

  • Minimum of 5 years in marketing/public relations/communications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications with some coursework in philanthropic studies preferred
  • Solution-oriented, team player who can work independently and work well with others
  • Strong planning and organization skills with a commitment to seeing projects all the way through and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Outcome-driven, with the ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities
  • Empathetic and passionate about helping to build a more inclusive society for individuals with disabilities is a must!
  • Strong decision-making skills, good judgement, and the ability to effectively advocate on behalf of individuals with disabilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word & Excel), google suite, Hootsuite and all social media channels
