Description

This is not a remote position. It is required of all BRIDGE employees to follow the BRIDGE Hybrid Work Schedule which includes working a minimum of 2 days per week on site.

Summary

The Manager of Philanthropic Programs develops and implements complex fundraising campaigns, events and projects, stewards and builds a portfolio of individual and institutional funders, develops powerful collateral, drafts policies and procedures, and provides other support as needed to ensure the success of the Philanthropy Team. The Manager is an integral part of the team that is rapidly building philanthropy to empower BRIDGE Housing to strengthen communities, beginning but not ending with housing.
This position reports to the Director of Philanthropy and is part of a three-person Philanthropy Team. The Manager of Philanthropic Programs also works closely with the Communications, Evaluation/Resident Program Design, and Community Development teams.

Responsibilities

Donor Relations and Gift Solicitation
 Manages a portfolio that focuses on institutional funders capable of granting up to approximately $25,000 and individual donors capable of giving up to approximately $10,000. Takes responsibility for all relationship stages for funders in their portfolio, from identification and research through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
 Researches, prepares, and submits corporate and foundation grant requests.
• Conducts tours for and gives presentations to individuals and groups of funders.
 Composes powerful text and collaborates with the Communications Team to generate compelling collateral for funders.
 Responsible for planning and implementing donor acquisition activities, such as specialized mailings and engagements, to build a robust pipeline of annual fund donors.
Campaigns and Appeals
• Develops and oversees implementation of the annual appeal program, to include mailings, social media campaigns, and other outreach, in close collaboration with the Senior Philanthropy Associate and the Communications team.
• Plans and leads targeted, time-limited fundraising campaigns to support special projects and meet emerging needs.
Events
• Plans and carries out house parties, roundtables, and similar events to cultivate and steward individual and institutional donors.
• Provides critical support to major events, such as galas and the Stein & Colwell Scholarship Celebration.
Special Projects
• Collaborates in and/or serves as project manager for the development and implementation of new fundraising strategies and programs, such as planned giving.
• Assists in the development of new processes, policies and procedures, such as a gift acceptance policy and naming opportunities plan.
Program Management
• Prepares reports and develops and manages timelines, work plans, and budgets.
• Plans and leads cross-departmental events and projects.
• Collaborates with the Senior Philanthropy Associate to ensure complete and timely recordkeeping in Raiser’s Edge of all donor interactions.
Qualifications
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and written and spoken communication skills.
• Perseverance and a positive outlook.
• Tact, poise, empathy, and the ability to build and sustain strong, trusting relationships with funders and colleagues at all levels.
• Successful experience with a wide range of fundraising strategies, programs, and events, coupled with the capacity and drive to learn and apply new skills and knowledge.
• Proven ability to secure financial contributions.
• Knowledge of the fundraising ecosystem in the San Francisco Bay area and/or in other west coast metropolitan areas.
• Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and to advancing the well-being of disadvantaged people.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites and knowledge of Raiser's Edge or a similar CRM.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising.
