About Bulamu:

Bulamu Healthcare is a U.S. and Uganda-registered non-profit organization. Founded in 2016, it holds 501(c)3 status in California (EIN: 47-4196766). Our mission is: To treat the sick and strengthen health systems serving Africans most in need. Since 2016, our Ugandan medical staff have treated 320,000+ patients including 11,000+ surgery patients.  Our work makes us a strong partner of Uganda's county governments and Ministry of Health (MOH). Those partnerships drive improvements in care in 353 partner health facilities (and counting!) We have 12 active district partnerships -covering 17% of the country, by population.

In 2023 alone, Bulamu has measurably reduced newborn mortality at scale. How did we do it? Our comprehensive approach trains maternity workers at 50 health centers (and counting) in WHO Essential Newborn Care.
