Description
JRS seeks candidates for a full-time position to assist the Executive Director in managing foundation programs, including an annual grant RFP cycle, outward-facing communications, professional presentations for foundation trustees, administrative tasks and handling logistics for biannual board meetings.
Required Qualifications:
This is a remote position; strong and reliable internet access is required.
Experience working in academia or managing programs in academic settings.
Effective experience working with a Board of Directors and managing board meeting logistics, presentations and documentation.
Ability to work up to 40 hours per week under the direction of JRS Executive Director.
Advanced capacity for prioritization in handling multiple projects and administrative tasks.
Experience in website and social media communications, coordinating content and creative formats.
Experience using software such as Wizehive for announcing, organizing, reviewing and notifications for annual grant RFP cycles.
Excellent oral and written expression with experience preparing presentations for high level audiences.
Advanced administrative skills in scheduling, report formatting and agenda management.
Experience handling professional communications and interactions with board members.
Advanced ability to use PowerPoint for presentation development.
Desired Skills:
Excellent communication skills and quick responsiveness on email and other work applications.
Capacity for effective communication with grantees and project field partners.
Ability to work independently from remote locations with firm deadlines.
Experience with partners or field projects abroad and specifically in Africa.
