Background

The Partnership for Equitable and Resilient Communities (PERC) is a results-driven partnership between community, philanthropy and government that advances racial equity and justice by shifting power and resources to Black, Indigenous, and Latino/a/x people living in low-wealth, under-resourced communities.  Utilizing a culturally competent approach, PERC seeks to engage impacted communities in decision making by creating comprehensive community plans, layering funding streams across programs, and creating pathways between community and government where they haven’t previously existed. Our North Star is that ALL Black, Indigenous, and Latino/a/x, people living in low-wealth, under-resourced communities in the United States have what they need to live fulfilled lives.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Executive Director (ED) to oversee the implementation of PERC. The ED will be the face of the organization, working in partnership with funders, federal partners, and implementation partners to coordinate strategic direction, and ensure successful implementation of PERC across multiple geographic locations.

An ideal Executive Director has a proven track record leading large, complex efforts and is results focused. They should have excellent communication and project management skills and take a holistic and inclusive approach to implementing PERC. The new ED will be expected to demonstrate and exemplify the vision and values of PERC, which includes a deep commitment to racial equity and community-based work.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously refine and implement strategies for successful implementation
  • Lead efforts to raise funds from philanthropic partners at the local and national level to expand PERC to new communities
  • Build an effective team of partners and leaders by providing management, guidance and coaching
  • Understand and track progress across the multiple workstreams and partners
  • Manage the cadence and successful daily execution of major activities
  • Act as a liaison to federal partners
  • Direct external communications strategy and act as the public representative of PERC in ways that elevate its profile
  • Manage the overall PERC budget and contracts
  • Work in close partnership with implementation lead, Urban Strategies, Inc.

Requirements and skills

  • Minimum 5 years in roles with similar level of responsibility
  • Comes with a racial equity analysis that drives their work
  • Proven experience in moving a set of diverse stakeholders to consensus and to sustainable results
  • Track record of systems change work, including experience creating, implementing, and managing new initiatives and supporting others during the change process
  • Demonstrated ability to raise funds and steward funder relationships
  • A deep commitment to community-led change and a track record of building and leveraging relationships within and among a diverse group of stakeholders, such as community, government, non-profits, etc.
  • Experience managing large budgets
  • Outstanding organizational, leadership and networking abilities
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and public speaking skills
  • Experience with Results Count™ preferred
