Who We Are

Gilda’s Club Twin Cities (GCTC) opened its Clubhouse doors in 2014 with the mission to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action and sustained by community. GCTC’s program provides critical social and emotional support for individuals and families impacted by cancer.  As one of the 46 affiliates of the Cancer Support Community worldwide, GCTC is a leader in the field of cancer support and sole Clubhouse in Minnesota. Our nationally-acclaimed, comprehensive, evidence-based program is based on five cornerstones: group support and counseling, healthy lifestyle classes, educational workshops, social activities, and community resources and referrals. Each month GCTC provides more than 120 programs free of charge to its members.

The ideal candidate for Executive Director (ED) will be a highly self-motivated, ambitious, people leader who is hungry for their next challenge and likes to diligently work alongside a like-minded, purpose-driven Team. The successful candidate knows how to exemplify and sustain a culture of high performance, a commitment to excellence in all things and has experience in tying team performance to results. A proven leader who appreciates both the art and science behind people activities and can equally think both strategically and tactically when executing on plans. This individual thrives on building trusted relationships, has a strong track record of adapting to change and is fearless in leading others through ambiguity. This leader will understand the vision and key objectives for the organization and be able to plan and execute an effective and efficient course toward achieving these objectives.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the health of the organization, culturally, operationally, and financially.
  • Ensure long-term, sustainable success and an engaging experience for all.
  • Build externally facing relationships to aid in the growth and expansion of our service offerings.
  • Continue to secure sufficient funding to ensure the ongoing operation, growth, and sustainability of GCTC.
  • Ensure the culture at GCTC reflects our values and accurately represents the community we serve and will be serving in the future.
  • Provide solid leadership that drives engagement and inspires a team of 5 including clear, open, and honest communications, autonomy, and ongoing professional development.
  • Provide general management of an efficient and effective organization; ensure implementation of bylaws, policies, strategic plan, goals, and priorities as defined by the Board of Directors.
  • Management of analytics, metrics, and key performance indicators necessary to measure success.
  • Work with and coordinate the activities of a volunteer-led Board to achieve the strategic and financial goals of GCTC.
  • Serve as chief spokesperson, represent GCTC at key meetings and community events.
  • Develop and execute outreach and public relations programs to increase awareness of GCTC

Leadership Competencies & Qualifications:

  • History of delivering solutions within dynamic environments undergoing growth and change.
  • Experience in evaluation methodologies, analytics, KPIS and reporting dashboards.
  • Well-developed skills and experience in operations management including P&L, marketing public relations and strategic planning.
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
  • Minimum of 8 -years’ experience in leading an organization, or equivalent independent P&L responsibility.
  • Solid network of community connections in the Twin Cities with the ability to build relationships and generate resources.
