Hollywood HEART is seeking an experienced Executive Director to guide the organization in leadership, development, staff management, community outreach and board relations.

 

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Hollywood Heart empowers underserved youth through arts education. We build communities and safe, supportive environments that cultivate confidence, creativity and self-esteem.

Hollywood HEART offers one day and multi-session workshops in both social service and educational settings; as well as our one-week Camp Hollywood HEART which serves youth impacted by HIV/AIDS.

 

WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT CANDIDATE?

Hollywood HEART is looking for an Executive Director to lead our organizations day-to-day efforts. You have a proven history in fundraising and development, and bring a network of potential donors (individuals, institutions or otherwise) to our organization. You’re comfortable working with our lean but mighty staff, team of consultants, super volunteers and teaching artists. You’re collaborative, with excellent communication skills, that draw on experience in the non-profit sector. You’re familiar with industry “best practices,” but aren’t afraid to experiment with new opportunities. You have a keen eye towards growth, while honoring the 25-year legacy of Hollywood HEART.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead strategic planning and execution consistent with Hollywood HEART’s vision, mission and values
  • Cultivate relationships with potential and current donors and funding institutions
  • Implement a fundraising strategy
  • Work with the Board of Directors to guide and grow the organization and programs
  • Establish effective working relationships and collaborative arraignments with community groups, funders and other organizations
  • Implement policies, programs, goals and objectives as established by the Hollywood HEART Board of Directors
  • As needed, work with the Board to identify and recruit new board members

Requirements

  • Professional leadership experience in the non-profit sector managing level or above
  • Exemplary communication skills
  • A proven background in fundraising from diverse sources
  • Ability to effectively communicate Hollywood HEART’s mission to donors, partners and the community
  • Experience supervising staff and/or volunteers
  • Commitment to helping underserved youth
