We are looking for a talented fundraising professional to fill the position of Donor Database Manager and help lead the efficient, effective, and donor-centric processing and acknowledgement of all gifts received by the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank.

POSITION PURPOSE

As a core member of an integrated department with a commitment to excellence, the Donor Database Manager is responsible for working to document fundraising and data processes and to support and train development teams to work more efficiently and to utilize the Raiser’s Edge (RE) database more consistently. The Donor Database Manager reports to the Manager, Donor Data Analytics and is responsible for various database maintenance, reporting, and list building projects. Additionally, the Donor Database Manager supports the overall department administrative and maintenance functions to help meet the organization’s annual revenue goal. This position works closely with Manager, Donor Insights and Gift Processing Systems in the areas of data management. Position requires extensive project management skills and collaboration across the entire Development team. Flexibility to meet new deadlines and urgent requests is a must. Candidate should be impact-oriented, mission-driven and have extraordinary attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Database Maintenance

  • Maintain ongoing quality and integrity of the data in the Raiser’s Edge database.
  • Verify, document, update coding systems, definitions, data entry standards, and database procedures.
  • Establish a system of quality control checks of all data input by users.
  • Analyze department database needs to help streamline and adjust daily team processes.
  • Plan and execute data clean-up as identified by the Manager, Donor Data Analytics.
  • Partner with the Manager, Donor Data Analytics with data requests and special projects.

Department Support

  • Setup and consult on basic dashboards and reports in both Raiser’s Edge database view and NXT web view.
  • Provide criteria-specific donor mailing lists, email groups, and recognitions lists.
  • Oversee cross-team mailing lists such as event invitations and annual report.
  • Partner with the Annual Fund team with campaign deadlines and reporting.
  • Guide, structure, and document event list management and registration processes in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Manage global data imports and updates.

Department Training and Procedures

  • Lead trainings for database users who input and extract data in Raiser’s Edge and NXT.
  • Collaborate and consult with teams to drive and document team specific data entry procedures.
  • Support and train seasonal staff.
  • Other duties as assigned support the Food Bank’s goal of increasing fundraising in support of programs and services that benefit our community.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-4 years professional experience and demonstrated success in administration; experience supporting fundraising initiatives in a nonprofit Development environment a plus.
  • 1-2 years’ experience with Raiser’s Edge strongly preferred, experience with NXT preferred.
  • Excellent research, planning, conceptual, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communications skills; must be comfortable in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work independently under deadline, juggle multiple priorities and maintain a professional work style.
  • Superb attention to detail and superior data entry skills.
  • Must possess excellent judgement with confidential and sensitive data.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekend events as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience with ImportOmatic and PaperSave preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

COMMUNICATION AND COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of complex intellectual and practical problems.

MATHEMATICS ABILITY: Ability to perform advanced math skills, use decimals to compute ratios and percentages, and to draw and interpret graphs.

LANGUAGE ABILITY: Fluency in English. Demonstrated excellence in writing and editing.

SALARY: Grade 5 56857.87 to 66891.86 annually

Your employment relationship with the SFMFB will be governed by the general employment policies and practices of the SFMB and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between SFMFB and OPEIU, LOCAL 29, OFFICE AND PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION.
