Position Description:
Support the mission of Uncommon Sports Group by overseeing the creation and implementation of
USG’s main ministry efforts that develop Christ-centered leaders of the sport industry.
Primary Responsibilities:
Build, lead and manage USG’s growing ministry team.
Cultivate a team culture founded on biblical teaching, reliance on the Savior, and prayer.
Lead the development, execution, and evaluation of all ministry strategies, processes, staffing, and resources to accomplish ministry objectives.
Develop and manage the annual budget and calendar for ministry initiatives.
Implement effective and efficient processes and systems for the USG Academy, mission trips, conferences and events, and the USG Connect app.
Optimize lead conversion of “FLOTSIs” into the USG network.
Act as the primary subject matter expert in conjunction with the marketing team to optimize lead generation.
Ensure the nurturing and engagement of the member community and other Christians within the college or pro sports industry through the USG Connect app and other networking opportunities.
Develop curriculum and materials for the USG Academy and other related teaching and discipleship opportunities.
Evaluate and determine annual support raising goals, stewardship methods, and donor/supporter appreciation/communication/care.
Support the ministry team leaders and implement the effective onboarding of new staff, including the training, tools, and resources that staff need to succeed.
Build and nurture strategic ministry and discipleship partnerships.
Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to achieve USG’s ministry goals.
Ongoing development and stewardship of prayer and financial supporters of the ministry.
(Compensation is not contingent upon support raising, but all USG Ministry positions do require partial support raising.)
Objectives:
Grow USGs number of Christ-centered leaders throughout the college & professional sports industry.
Practices personal spiritual disciplines and leads with humility, character, and love
3+ years of experience in managing and leading staff
3+ years of leading strategic planning experience
1+ years of project management, or task management
Experience working in the collegiate or professional sport industry
Exhibits a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
Self-starter and team player that is loyal to the vision and mission of the ministry
Ability to multitask with high attention to detail
Proficiency in computer technology and web-based applications
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Bachelor’s Degree or higher
