Director of Institutional Giving
Full-Time Position (On-Site)
Reports to the Director of Development
Salary $85,000 to $90,000 per annum

Organization Overview:

For nearly 65 years, Little Sisters of the Assumption (LSA) Family Health Service, a community-based nonprofit, has supported thousands of low-income and immigrant families. LSA provides families with the most critical resources they need – food, clothing, healthcare, education, a safe home, and advocacy services. We believe by supporting and empowering families, our entire community will thrive.

LSA is recognized as a leading community nonprofit – across our community and across New York City. In 2021, LSA was engaged by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to address COVID-19 related health disparities in East Harlem. LSA has long standing funding and strategic partnerships with leading health and social service organizations including the Robin Hood Foundation, Pinkerton Foundation, Deerfield Foundation, NY Immigration Coalition, and Catholic Charities. We are a leader in community mobilization for important city-wide initiatives including a historic lawsuit to improve public housing as well as programs to link immigrant families to education. As a team, LSA is dedicated to seven core values: the uniqueness and dignity of each person; the strength of families; the power of relationships; the richness of diversity; justice as a right for every person; the creativity of the human spirit; and the importance of the spiritual search.

Position Overview: LSA is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join its Development department. Reporting to LSA’s Director of Development, LSA’s Director of Institutional Giving is responsible for maximizing LSA’s institutional giving and public revenue fundraising performance and achieving its institutional giving and public revenue fundraising goals. The Director of Institutional Giving will be part of a 5-person team securing $5m+ annually. Critical to this role will be building and implementing a multi-year plan to increase all institutional giving and public revenue sources to support the long-term sustainability of the organization. This will include stewarding and growing relationships with LSA’s current institutional and public revenue donors, building new relationships with potential donors, and reactivating lapsed donors to secure five to seven-figure donations for LSA. Additionally, the Director will have a unique opportunity to build and expand LSA’s revenue base from corporations, and work with LSA’s Director of Volunteers to convert corporate volunteers into a key source of financial support and revenue diversification. LSA’s ideal candidate has 7-10 years of experience in institutional giving, with a demonstrated ability to meet goals and close on five to seven-figure gifts from foundations, corporations, and/or public revenue sources.
