About the Opportunity

The Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA), a rapidly-growing nonprofit addressing the global energy transition, is looking for a Development Associate who will be responsible for preparing and coordinating the production of written materials for foundation grant reporting and proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with grant proposal research, content, attachments, submissions
  • Takes the lead on grant report research, writing, attachments, submissions
  • Utilizes Salesforce, enters data, suggests improvements for use
  • Oversees funding timelines – tracks and follows-up on deadlines, sends reminders
  • Attends quarterly meetings with IEEFA's program team leads - assists with scheduling, assembling data, materials
  • Conducts research on prospective donors, creates reports, tracks activity
  • Assists with creating IEEFA’s Annual Report – curates written and visual content, conducts research, facilitates distribution
  • Provides input for Funder Communications Outreach – creates content and distributes
  • Helps with board member communications related to fundraising
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Attends IEEFA’s annual conference
  • Successful candidate must be based in the greater Cleveland, OH area
  • Works in the IEEFA Lakewood OH office, minimum one day per week
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM, and secure file sharing platforms, i.e. Box, Google Drive, OneDrive.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work experience with development/fundraising in a nonprofit organization
  • Experience working in an international environment
  • Familiarity with energy finance issues or related subject matter

Travel: Some travel will be required, including regional travel and trips to New York for IEEFA team meetings and the annual conference.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: The Development Associate may work a hybrid remote/in office schedule.  Must be able to work for prolonged periods at a computer. Computer work can involve repetitive motion, eyestrain, back and neck strain.

Hiring Range: $55,200 - $64,400

Benefits: A competitive benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance, vacation leave (20 days per year), sick and safe leave (10 days per year), 12 paid holidays per year, 401(k), Safe Harbor Plan (after 6 months employment), a home office set-up stipend, technology equipment provided.
