Description

The Deputy Director, Exhibits and Sponsorships is a member of the Meetings Department within NACHC’s Operations Division. The team is responsible for a high volume of conference programming and contributes to a significant portion of NACHC’s annual revenue. This position is highly visible both within and outside of NACHC. The successful candidate must exhibit excellent customer service skills for both an internal and external audience. This position works to align business development strategies in tandem with NACHC’s Membership, Development & Innovation teams and NACHC’s affiliate, Community Health Ventures.

The Deputy Director, Exhibits & Sponsorship is responsible for raising money through the sale and fulfillment of sponsorships, exhibit packages, exhibit floor space and print ads for all NACHC conferences by targeting various companies, organizations, and associations. This individual creates sponsorship and exhibitor packages according to client specifications and following NACHC policies. The Deputy Director attends regular departmental meetings, conference-planning meetings and cross-division project team meetings as required. This position travels roughly 15% of the year to NACHC national conferences and, when necessary, planning site visits.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Utilize telephone solicitation, electronic and written correspondence, and face-to-face meetings as tools to reach and exceed the budgeted revenue target for each conference.
  • Research, develop and cultivate a list of potential sponsors and exhibitors for each conference.
  • Develop retention strategies with existing customers and exhibitors.
  • Keep precise records of conversations with all customers.
  • Update the company iMIS database with contact updates as required.
  • Work with NACHC accounting staff to invoice sponsors and exhibitors once agreements have been reached.
  • Prepare promotional material to advertise sales opportunities.
  • Produce an Exhibit & Sponsorship Guide for all conferences.
  • Maintain knowledge of conference timelines and sponsorship deliverable deadlines.
  • Ensure contracted deliverables are met by all associated parties.
  • Works with AVP of Conferences & Exhibits to develop and maintain meeting budgets.
  • Produces post-meeting evaluation and statistical reports, including verifying and processing exhibit expenses.
  • Maintain professional demeanor whenever representing NACHC internally or externally.

  •  Ability to communicate customer needs and resolve issues independently.
  • Ability to establish a sales strategy and execute to achieve or exceed goals.
  • Ability to effectively present information both electronically and in person and respond to questions from clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to negotiate on behalf of NACHC to achieve maximum benefits.
  • Excellent knowledge of a variety of software including iMIS, eShow, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Adobe are necessary. Willingness to learn new systems and software, required.
  • Basic knowledge of income/expense accounting is required.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines, coordinate details and work independently.
  • Strong negotiation skills, communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Undergraduate degree; CEM preferred.
  • Seven + years’ experience in meetings, exhibits and sponsorship.
  • Association experience necessary
