Description

Job Type
Full-time

The San Francisco SPCA was founded on the principal that a small group of people, working together and working strategically, could make a huge impact on the lives of animals. Over a century and a half, that has proven to be true. We’ve set out to achieve a goal of impacting 5 million lives in 10 years with what we call, Vision 2030. We are not only impacting lives in San Francisco, but also expanding our reach through the state of California. To achieve this goal, access to basic veterinary care will be imperative.

The Program:

There is a critical need for increased access to veterinary care in California, especially in the Central Valley. The veterinarian shortage has reduced the number of providers and increased the cost of care, making it challenging for families to keep their pets healthy and increasing the populations in shelters. Our goal is to keep animals healthy, in homes, and out of shelters. Our multifaceted approach starts with offering spay/neuter clinics for owned animals and shelters animals at our partner shelters in the Central Valley over the next two years. Additionally, we will begin developing – with community input – plans for increasing access to such care a vaccinations, basic veterinary care, and spay-neuter services.

As a well-established member of the Central Valley community, the Community Engagement Program Manager will be our on-the-ground point person to help us kick off this exciting new expansion of services in the Central Valley.
