General Description

Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center seeks a National Training Specialist to deliver trainings to child-serving professionals, community members and professionals fighting crimes against children. Responsibilities include providing face-to-face delivery of adult, youth and child education programs, helping to manage online learning management system, conducting in-house training events, and executing the Crimes Against Children Conference. Our ideal candidate has prior experience in education, child protection, and/or community outreach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Speak publicly about DCAC and child abuse issues with specific area of focus such as parent/community education
  • Research latest developments and current trends relevant to the field of child abuse.
  • Liaison for relationship building, curriculum sales and customer service with child-serving organizations such as faith communities, local school districts, institutions of higher education, child-care centers, youth development agencies and other children’s advocacy centers.
  • Regularly attend multi-disciplinary team staffing and foster relationships with partner agencies.
  • Work with customers to assist with account set up, troubleshoot issues and compile reports for online learning management system users.
  • Market and promote DCAC education offerings, events and/or provide tours on a consistent basis.
  • Assist with development/expansion of curricula offerings including video production and updating of hard-copy materials.
  • Proactively develop new customer contacts, conduct presentations, review leads, and deliver curricula proposals.
  • Maintain records of account activity and education event calendar.
  • Monitor the inventory of Education materials and reorder as needed.
  • Serve as a point of contact to connect potential donors, volunteers and advocates to appropriate DCAC staff members.
  • Provide support to all training team projects and events.
  • Assist with agency-wide events
  • Candidate should be able to work days, evenings and weekends on a regular basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree earned from an accredited university with prior work experience in education or community outreach, minimum of 3-5 years preferable.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of child abuse issues preferred, but not necessary.
  • Exceptional written, oral, and public communication skills with the capacity to engage multiple and diverse constituencies.
  • Must be comfortable in front of various sizes and types of audiences; speaking with authority, professionalism and composure.
  • Must be able to routinely, and at times with short notice, speak on evenings and weekends.
  • Dependable transportation is required as local travel is necessary.
  • Intermediate level proficiency with MS Windows, Word, and Excel; knowledge of CVENT preferred.
  • Individual should be creative, resourceful, action-oriented, organized, and flexible, possessing a positive attitude, tact, good judgment and cultural sensitivity.
  • Must be able to work effectively as a member of team as well as establish and maintain positive, cooperative and consistent relationships with community members, DCAC staff and partners, as well as volunteers.
  • Individual should ensure accuracy and confidentiality in all work.
  • Must be able to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.
