The San Francisco-Marin Food Bank is comprised of a dedicated team of approximately 150 staff working collaboratively to provide close to 50 million pounds of food to over 210,000 people in the Bay Area – a region where 1 in 4 people are at risk of hunger. PURPOSE OF POSITION: As a member of the Annual Fund team, the Annual Fund Coordinator works with the Digital Fundraising Manager and the Development Campaign Manager to acquire, renew and cultivate individual donors. The Annual Fund Coordinator is a pivotal role within the team that manages the customer service for a broad base of donors, ensuring donors have an exceptional experience with the Food Bank.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Donor Services & Cultivation

  • Serves as internal advocate and voice for Food Bank donor needs and experience; seeks opportunities to cultivate and recognize donors
  • Actively proposes changes to systems and processes based on feedback from donors
  • Provides excellent customer service over the phone, in person, and by email, maintaining outstanding donor care and satisfaction
  • Acts as main point person in receiving and resolving donor complaints and feedback.
  • Accepts monetary donations over the phone and in person
  • Prepares end of year tax statements, donor receipts, and other information to donors as needed
  • Updates and documents donor information and communication preferences in the database and marketing software as needed
  • Helps train and support temporary donor services holiday staff and volunteers as needed

Special Giving Programs

  • Manages donor services and gift processing for the Monthly Giving Circle. Proactively reaches out to monthly donors to update their donation information
  • Acts as main donor liaison for annual Monthly Giving Circle event
  • Manage mail opening in collaboration with Finance and DevOps. May include: opening, sorting, scanning, archiving, and other tasks as needed

Fundraising Support

  • Provides support for the planning, development and implementation of Annual Giving direct mail and email fundraising campaigns. Participates in planning meetings and helps with proofreading/editing, email and print production, data maintenance, and campaign analytics
  • Maintain clear process documentation to easily train and delegate tasks to colleagues
  • Collaborate closely with the other Annual Fund Coordinator(s) to accomplish these tasks efficiently and supportively
  • Jumps in to help the team as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Customer service experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in improving processes and systems to better donor experience
  • Must be able to handle financial documents and donor information sensitively and confidentially
  • Be able to maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Raiser’s Edge a plus
  • Interest in hunger or food issues

SALARY:  pay grade 4 range $ 52349.75 to $ 58167.19
