The Opportunity
SAL is hiring a full-time, remote team member to increase internal capacity and support by
implementing and strengthening our core programs. The Program Operations Manager will have the
chance to collaboratively establish new systems and ways of working that allow SAL to respond to the
needs of state reproductive health, rights, and justice partners. The Program Operations Manager
reports to the Chief of Staff, and will work across the small but growing team to support cross team
programming and administrative tasks with efficiency and creativity.
The Program Operations Manager will bring significant experience successfully creating the conditions
for teams to effectively collaborate to better fulfill their missions and achieve their organizational goals.
This role will build capacity for our team, strengthen the internal workings of the organization and in
turn create more opportunities for SAL to work with state partners in various capacities.
Who You Are
You are the one people call when they don’t know who else to reach out to, and you answer the call with
care and comfort. You love making people feel supported, looking for new ways to support and organize
people and processes and ensuring they have the best and most up to date information and tools to
move mission driven work forward. You have a commitment to the values and organizations of the
reproductive rights, health and justice movements and extensive knowledge and understanding of both
project management tools and best practices for remote workplaces. You are a problem solver, and have
keen attention to detail but you don’t get bogged down in the challenges for too long- you start from a place of ‘yes we can figure that out’ and know how to take the next step forward. You know that process
is program; meaning that the way we work and our operational processes, and time and resource
allocation demonstrates our values. You center relationships and hold space for different perspectives,
ensuring that the voices of those closest to the issue are heard and valued in our work and workplaces.
This person is the backbone for SAL! They support the team so the team can better support partners and
movement groups.
