Advance NYC is committed to supporting the well-being of our employees: we endeavor to pay them fairly, provide professional development opportunities that directly align with their goals, promote from within, and foster a supportive workplace that allows everyone to place our full trust in each other and do our best work. The employee workload is structured to be accomplished within a 40-hour work week, and while the occasional long day or week happens, we strive for it to be an exception and not the norm. We respect each team member’s life outside of the office and set expectations both internally and with our clients to ensure that established working hours are observed. We encourage our employees to take vacation, and we build our teams so that everyone has the necessary backup to take time off.
About this Role
Advance NYC is currently seeking a full-time Development Manager to join a team focused on providing strategic counsel and fundraising support for a portfolio of 4-6 clients. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate, motivated professional who is interested in advancing their career in nonprofit fundraising and working with a diverse portfolio of client organizations.
Reporting to a Senior Director and in collaboration with others on the team, the Manager will support the development and manage the execution of a giving strategy for each client, including: advising on general donor, major donor, corporate, and Board opportunities; drafting outreach to current and prospective donors; managing annual and special campaigns; steering and executing select events as needed (i.e. cultivation events, benefits, and galas); and ensuring proactive planning to meet all contributed income goals. Managers also collaborate with their Senior Director on the development and execution of Strategic Plans, Opportunity Assessments, and other organizational strategy deliverables. The Manager will be supported by an Associate, and will collaborate with specialists in institutional giving/grant writing as needed.
This is a primarily virtual position. While Advance NYC operates in a virtual office, this position requires some in-person attendance as needed for select client meetings, internal meetings, and other related tasks in the NYC metro area. Advance NYC’s office hours are generally 10AM - 6PM EST Monday-Friday with the occasional evening and/or weekend obligation. Team members may exercise a more flexible schedule within the 40-hour work week as client commitments and team needs allow.
