PURPOSE OF POSITION: RCMA’s Development and Community Relations Department (DCR) supports RCMA’s mission by strengthening RCMA’s relationships with donors, community partners, alumni, parents, friends, corporations, foundations, and numerous other private institutions, raising public awareness, and increasing private philanthropy, which supports RCMA’s growth and reputation.

The Statewide Annual Giving Manager is responsible for the overall strategy and execution of a comprehensive annual giving program that engages donors, increases contributions, and ensures long-term financial sustainability for the organization. This role involves a variety of activities, including managing direct mail campaigns, donor outreach, stewardship, and the organization of key fundraising events and programs. This is one of the most important roles in building a pipeline of financial support for schools, centers, the capital campaign, and organizational programming.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; however, other duties may be assigned:

1. Annual Giving Strategy & Execution 

  • Develops and executes a strategic plan for the annual giving program with the goal of increasing general support and donor engagement within each region of Florida.
  • Collaborates with the Interim Director of Development to build and refine annual giving strategies to grow donor contributions.

2. Campaign Management & Solicitation

  • Plans and implements specific fundraising strategies, including direct mail campaigns, phone-a-thons, and online giving programs.
  • Leads special giving programs like “Day of Giving” and other ad hoc initiatives as appropriate.

3. Donor & Volunteer Stewardship

  • Coordinates with volunteers to support stewardship activities, including thank-you notes, donor calls, and recognition efforts.
  • Develops a stewardship plan to maintain strong relationships with annual giving donors.

4. Tracking & Reporting

  • Tracks annual giving renewals, upgrades, and initial solicitations to ensure goals are met.
  • Prepares and provides regular progress reports (monthly) to the IDD on annual development goals.

5. Event Coordination

  • Supports the planning and execution of key fundraising events in collaboration with the Development, Communications, and DCR teams.

6. Marketing & Communications

  • Works with the Communications team to design and create marketing materials and promotions for the annual giving program.
  • Helps organize and execute an annual giving campaign targeting both current and prospective donors.

7. Volunteer Engagement

  • Identifies, recruits, and manages volunteers to assist with annual giving efforts.
  • Facilitates regular communication and coordination with volunteers to ensure alignment with annual giving goals.

8. Donor Recognition & Appreciation

  • Collaborates with the DCR team and local staff to plan and implement donor and volunteer appreciation events across the organization’s regions.

9. Alumni Giving Program

  • Assists in the development of an alumni giving program to encourage ongoing support from former staff, volunteers, and community members.

10. Database Management

  • Maintains accurate records of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities in Raiser’s Edge.

11. Team Collaboration

  • Participates in bi-weekly meetings with the IDD, development team, and communications team to align on strategies and progress.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably,
  • Minimum of 5+ years of nonprofit annual giving experience preferred.

Additional Comments: This position requires in-person attendance for all applicants residing in the Southwest Florida (SWFL) area. Candidates located in the surrounding regions of SWFL may have the opportunity to work from an RCMA area office closest to their location. This arrangement will be contingent upon the candidate’s suitability for the role.
