- Full time special education teacher
Job Responsibilities:
Academic & Behavioral Instruction
-
Provide direct instruction in academic and social-emotional skills through individualized and small group instruction.

Use evidence-based instructional strategies tailored to students' IEP goals.
-
Support behavior plans and implement positive behavior interventions.
IEP Development & Compliance
-
Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams.
-
Maintain accurate, compliant documentation and progress reports.
-
Participate in eligibility and reevaluation processes.
Assessment & Data Use
-
Administer and interpret formal and informal assessments to guide instruction.
-
Use data to track student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
-
Maintain detailed records of student performance and services.
Collaboration & Co‑Teaching
-
Partner with general education teachers to support inclusive education.
-
Participate in co-teaching, consultation, and curriculum modifications.
-
Collaborate with related service providers, families, and support staff.
Classroom Management & Environment
- Create a structured, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

Develop and implement proactive behavior management systems.
-
Utilize restorative practices and de-escalation techniques when needed.
Professionalism & Growth
- Engage in ongoing professional development.

Stay current with best practices in special education and inclusive instruction.

Demonstrate professionalism, ethical practice, and a commitment to student success.
Job Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s (or higher) in Special Education or related field.

Valid Colorado license endorsed as Special Education Generalist (ages 5–21) or in-process application.

Minimum 2–3 years teaching experience in special education (elementary/middle) preferred.

Skilled in data-driven instruction and standards-based curriculum (Common Core/Colorado Academic Standards).

Teaching license must show a special education endorsement

CLDE credential preferred

- READ Act certification preferred.
