About MRFF
Militaryreligiousfreedom.org
Founded in 2005, the Military Religious Freedom Foundation is a Nobel Peace Prize–nominated civil-rights nonprofit defending the constitutional separation of church and state in the U.S. Armed Forces.
We represent over 100,000 service members, veterans, and civilian employees who face religious coercion or discrimination. MRFF stands for the religious liberty and equality of all who serve.

Position Summary
Our foundation is seeking a strategic, well-connected fundraiser with established relationships in high-net-worth communities. This role focuses exclusively on cultivating new philanthropic donors—not managing or expanding existing contributions—and is best suited to a highly self-directed professional who is comfortable working independently, building new relationships, and generating early momentum.
Because our advocacy frequently challenges religious favoritism and unconstitutional endorsement of religion within the military, this role requires a fundraiser who is deeply aligned with the principle of church–state separation and comfortable advancing that position publicly and persuasively. The successful candidate must be motivated by protecting the rights of service members of all faiths and of no faith.
You will identify, cultivate, and solicit high-value supporters who share our mission to protect constitutional freedoms and human rights in the military. This role requires not only experience at the $25,000+ major-gift level, but a genuine commitment to our civil-rights advocacy. It is best suited to a development professional who is comfortable championing a focused, values-driven mission while generating sustained momentum through consistent, proactive outreach.
Important Note About Donor Development:
This position will focus exclusively on identifying and cultivating new donors. The contractor will not be given access to MRFF’s existing donor database or current donor network. Success in this role will require independently researching prospects, developing relationships with new supporters, and building a donor pipeline from the ground up.
Because MRFF operates with a small staff, the contractor should also be comfortable working with limited day-to-day involvement from leadership in prospect identification and cultivation strategy. Candidates should have experience independently sourcing and cultivating major-gift prospects without reliance on an existing organizational donor portfolio.

Our goal is to build a strong, ongoing partnership with a development professional who is deeply aligned with MRFF’s mission and prepared to help expand our base of major support.
